University of Portsmouth's Gamejam

Initially the design work was for the Logo, but has now included 7 different T-shirt designs (Uk, China and France (CESI)), multiple Certificates for both UK and France, a  Website design, which links to other host based sites (when they are running), and multiple promotional poster designs (and for several years logo revisions, with bespoke font development): this year will see the 8th anniversary of the Portsmouth event.

2014 was about sport games, and rather than picking an obvious kind of sport game I went for one that I could also feed the Chinese Zodiac into (this year is Horse). Initially I was thinking about sea horses, but this evolved to 'white horses' and the sea/waves. Eventually this ended up with this highly stylised version of a surfer, and the suggestion of our location in the background.

T-shirts:

The back design from 2013,  took a slightly different direction. For the previous few shirts I had tried to represent the different game genre's: this time I took a more abstract approach to 'combat/war' gaming. I also wanted to show the different styles of gameplay. Finally, I took to decision to subtly include the Chinese Zodiac, which for 2013 was a snake.

2015 and 2016 I have art directed up and coming artists and over seen their design work: For 2015 this was with Loz Hawnt, and we decided to cover Gambling as the genre, and used the Sheep as a main character from the Zodiac. 2016 I worked with Laura Wade and again used the Zodiac 'Fire Monkey' as our main inspiration, with platforming as our genre.
